August 2022 - Dementia Friendly Swansea
Dementia Friendly Swansea is a voluntary group that focuses on improving inclusion and quality of life for people with dementia in Swansea and surrounding areas.
The Dementia Hwb located in The Quadrant, Swansea, is a unique pop-up information centre led by Dementia Friendly Swansea. Opened in January 2022, The Dementia Hwb in Swansea is a unique pop-up information centre located at the entrance through the bus station of The Quadrant. Initially opening for a five week trial, the service is being supported by Dementia Friendly Swansea together with Alzheimer’s Society Cymru, Age Cymru West Glamorgan and other local organisations. The Hwb is currently funded by a Swansea Council Winter of Wellbeing 50+ grant.
People with dementia get by with a little help from their friends and anybody can become a Dementia Friend. It’s just about understanding a bit more about dementia and the small things you can do to help people with the condition. To raise money throughout August for The Dementia Hwb our Pizza and Cocktail additions are -
Pizza - Wilted Greens, Free Range Egg, Seed Mix with Spicy Pine Nuts and Truffle Oil on our Little Valley Bakery Sourdough Pizza with our Tomato Base.
Cocktail - Old Fashioned 0% Cooler
All profits from these Charity Specials will be donated to Dementia Friendly Swansea.
We will also be holding a Bingo night on the 5th of September to raise additional funds.
